Yami Gautam Himachal Home Is a 100-Year-Old Heritage Retreat Spread Across 25 Acres
Yami Gautam has always maintained a strong connection with Himachal Pradesh, and her home in the state reflects that bond. Away from the pace of Mumbai, the actor and her husband, filmmaker Aditya Dhar, have made a century-old heritage property near Mandi an important part of their lives.
The sprawling estate reportedly covers around 25 acres and combines traditional Himachali architecture with gardens, farmland and a quieter lifestyle surrounded by nature.
A Heritage Property With a Personal Connection
The house reportedly dates back around 100 years and was built using traditional materials such as stone and wood. Rather than completely transforming the property into a modern luxury home, Yami has chosen to retain many of its original characteristics.
Reports have put the estimated value of the property at around Rs 8 crore.
The decision to own a home in Himachal also has a personal story behind it. Although Yami grew up in Chandigarh, she spent her childhood summers at her maternal grandmother’s home in Shimla. That early connection with the hills has remained an important part of her relationship with Himachal Pradesh.
Traditional Himachali Design Takes Centre Stage
One of the defining aspects of the property is its architecture.
The house features a sloping roof, stone construction, wooden elements and deep-set windows, giving it the appearance of a traditional Himachali residence. Inside, exposed wooden beams and earthy tones add to the home’s old-world character.
The interiors are relatively understated compared with the ultra-modern homes often associated with Bollywood celebrities. Instead of relying heavily on extravagant furnishings or large glass structures, the property retains a more rustic and warm aesthetic.
For Yami, preserving this character has reportedly been an important consideration.
25 Acres of Greenery, Gardens and Farmland
The house is only one part of the expansive property. A large portion of the estate is surrounded by greenery and agricultural spaces.
Yami and Aditya are reportedly involved in maintaining organic kitchen gardens and a greenhouse on the property. The estate is said to produce several fruits and vegetables, including apples, plums, potatoes, lemons and ginger.
This connection with farming and home-grown produce gives the property a very different character from a typical celebrity residence.
Yami has also occasionally shared glimpses of her life in Himachal on social media, offering followers a look at the natural surroundings and the slower pace of life she enjoys there.
Why Yami Chose the Property
The heritage home reportedly came onto the market in 2016. According to reports, its previous owners were considering different buyers but eventually chose Yami because they believed she would respect the history and character of the ancestral property.
The purchase was reportedly motivated by an emotional connection rather than simply being a real-estate investment.
That sentiment is also reflected in the way the house has been maintained. Instead of removing its traditional identity, several original architectural features have been preserved.
A Special Place for Yami and Aditya
The property has another important connection to the couple’s personal life. Yami Gautam and Aditya Dhar got married in June 2021 at their Himachal home.
The couple later welcomed their son, Vedavid, in May 2024.
With the family spending more time in Himachal, the property has evolved from a heritage purchase into a meaningful family space.
From Bollywood Life to a Quieter Himalayan Setting
Yami Gautam’s Himachal home offers a glimpse into a lifestyle that is quite different from the usual image of celebrity luxury.
Instead of focusing primarily on modern architecture and extravagant interiors, the property centres around heritage design, agriculture, greenery and a connection with nature.
For an actor who has often spoken about her Himachali roots, the 100-year-old home appears to represent something more personal than a luxury residence — a place connected to her childhood memories and family life.
