Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra Offers Samsung’s Most Powerful Fold Experience
The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is designed for users who demand top-tier performance, productivity, and professional-grade photography.
It features Samsung’s largest Fold display yet—an 8-inch foldable AMOLED panel—providing more space for multitasking, document editing, video conferencing, gaming, and content creation.
Photography is one of the biggest upgrades. The phone includes a 200MP primary camera, a 50MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. Samsung says the improved camera system delivers better low-light photography while supporting 8K video recording.
Power comes from a 5,000mAh battery, complemented by faster charging technology and an upgraded cooling system for sustained gaming and heavy workloads.
Samsung has also introduced Flex Titanium, a new material designed to reduce crease visibility while making the phone thinner and more durable. The Fold8 Ultra measures only 4.1mm when unfolded.
Galaxy Z Fold8 Focuses on Comfort and Everyday Use
The Galaxy Z Fold8 is aimed at users looking for a more portable foldable smartphone.
At just 201 grams, it becomes Samsung’s lightest Galaxy Z Fold smartphone to date. The redesigned display proportions make reading, browsing, watching videos, and gaming more comfortable.
Samsung says the new aspect ratio improves both landscape and portrait viewing experiences. Users can enjoy a wider screen for movies and games while rotating the phone creates a taller layout that’s ideal for reading articles or e-books.
The Fold8 also introduces My FanCam, an AI-powered feature that automatically tracks a selected subject during video recording and intelligently reframes footage for social media platforms.
Its dual 50MP rear camera system supports high-quality photography, while Photo Assist allows users to compare original and AI-enhanced images side by side.
Samsung claims the Fold8 can provide more than 26 hours of video playback under testing conditions.
New AI Features Across Both Foldables
Both smartphones are powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor and ship with Android 17 alongside Samsung’s new One UI 9 interface.
Samsung has integrated several AI-powered productivity features across both models, including:
- Now Nudge, which recommends useful actions based on activity in other apps.
- Gemini Notebook, allowing users to organize documents, photos, voice recordings, and generate summaries, reports, or presentations.
- Cross-App Gemini Assistance, enabling Google’s AI assistant to perform tasks across more than 40 supported applications after user confirmation.
One UI 9 also includes an AI activity dashboard that gives users greater transparency and control over AI-generated content and permissions.
Samsung is offering six months of Google AI Pro free with both smartphones.
