PM Modi Joins Trump Truth Social: Strengthening Digital Ties

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has joined Truth Social, a social media platform owned by Trump Media, further strengthening his digital presence on global platforms.

PM Modi First Posts on Truth Social

  • In his first post, Modi shared a picture with former US President Donald Trump, calling him a “good friend.”
    • He wrote: “Delighted to be on Truth Social! Looking forward to interacting with all the passionate voices here and engaging in meaningful conversations in the times to come.”
  • In his second post, he shared the link to his 3-hour podcast with Lex Fridman, a renowned podcaster and computer scientist.

Trump Highlights Modi’s Podcast

Earlier in the day, Donald Trump himself shared Modi podcast on Truth Social, bringing attention to their strong political and personal rapport.

  • Modi thanked Trump for sharing the interaction, stating:
    • “Thank you, my friend, President Trump. I’ve covered a wide range of topics, including my life journey, India’s civilisational outlook, global issues, and more.”

Modi on His Bond with Trump

During the Lex Fridman podcast, Modi highlighted his strong relationship with Trump, stating:

  • Both leaders share a “nation-first” approach.
  • Their mutual trust remained unshaken, even when Trump was out of office during Joe Biden’presidency.
  • Modi recalled a memorable moment from the ‘Howdy Modi’ event in Houston when Trump ignored security protocols and took a lap around the stadium with him.

A New Digital Chapter

By joining Truth Social, Modi expands his digital reach onto a platform where Trump has a major influence. This move signifies a new chapter in US-India digital diplomacy, reinforcing ties between the two leaders on social media.
