Nearly a decade after its theatrical release, the Telugu action drama Jaya Janaki Nayaka has achieved an extraordinary milestone online. The film’s Hindi-dubbed version, released as Khatarnaak on YouTube, has surpassed 1 billion views, becoming the first dubbed movie to reach the landmark on the video-sharing platform.

Originally directed by Boyapati Srinu, the film stars Bellamkonda Sreenivas, Rakul Preet Singh, and Jagapathi Babu in lead roles. Despite receiving a mixed response during its theatrical run, the movie has found an enormous audience through digital platforms.

Director Boyapati Srinu Reacts to the Record

Reacting to the achievement, director Boyapati Srinu expressed his happiness and gratitude, saying he always believed in the film’s story and content.

According to the filmmaker, while the movie did not perform as expected at the box office, he remained confident in its emotional core. He said the billion-view milestone reinforces his belief that strong storytelling eventually finds its audience, regardless of its initial commercial performance.

Srinu also noted that the success has encouraged him to continue creating films with conviction rather than focusing solely on box office numbers.

From Theatres to Digital Success

The filmmaker reflected on the film’s unusual journey, explaining that although fewer people watched it in cinemas, the movie has now reached audiences across India and overseas through YouTube.

He added that among his filmography, which includes several commercial successes, Jaya Janaki Nayaka has become one of the most widely watched projects because of its growing popularity in multiple languages after its digital release.

Boyapati Srinu Hints at Upcoming Projects

Speaking about his future plans, Srinu confirmed that he is currently working on a new project, with an official announcement expected soon.

He also revealed that Akhanda 3 is in the pipeline, although it will take some time before production begins. The director shared that Akhanda 2 was filmed in parts of Uttar Pradesh during the Maha Kumbh celebrations in Prayagraj, and he hopes to shoot future projects in North India as well.

About Jaya Janaki Nayaka

Released in 2017, Jaya Janaki Nayaka is a Telugu romantic action drama featuring Bellamkonda Sreenivas, Rakul Preet Singh, and Jagapathi Babu in key roles. The film’s music was composed by Devi Sri Prasad (DSP).

Its Hindi-dubbed version, Khatarnaak, was uploaded by Pen Movies on YouTube, where it gradually gained massive popularity over the years. Crossing the 1 billion-view mark highlights the growing demand for South Indian cinema among Hindi-speaking audiences and marks a significant achievement in the digital entertainment space.
