The Baltimore Ravens took a significant step forward in their quest for their first Super Bowl title since 2012, thanks to stellar performances by quarterback Lamar Jackson and running back Derrick Henry. The dynamic duo delivered an explosive performance in the wild-card round, propelling the Ravens to a commanding 28-14 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Offensive Firepower

Jackson and Henry were unstoppable, combining for 267 rushing yards and four total touchdowns. Jackson’s precision passing and Henry’s powerful running set the tone early in the game, as the Ravens jumped out to a 21-0 halftime lead.

  • Lamar Jackson: 13-of-15 passing, 144 yards, and a touchdown in the first half.
  • Derrick Henry: A bruising presence with a 34-yard direct-snap run and an 8-yard touchdown in the second quarter.

Baltimore’s opening drive showcased their offensive prowess with a methodical 13-play, 95-yard drive, capped by a 15-yard touchdown pass from Jackson to wide receiver Rashod Bateman.

Sustained Dominance

The Ravens’ second touchdown came on an 85-yard drive with Henry powering into the end zone. Jackson continued his dominance, connecting with running back Justice Hill for a quick nine-play, 90-yard scoring drive, completed in just 1:51.

By halftime, Baltimore had amassed 308 total yards compared to Pittsburgh’s meager 59 yards, illustrating their dominance on both sides of the ball.

Second Half: Closing the Deal

While the Steelers managed to put up two scores in the second half, the Ravens’ offense remained unstoppable. Baltimore finished the game with:

  • 464 total yards
  • 29 first downs

A Balanced Attack

The Ravens’ defense also played a critical role, stifling the Steelers’ offense and keeping their production to a minimum in the first half.

Next Steps

With their emphatic wild-card victory, the Ravens have sent a clear message to the rest of the NFL. If Jackson and Henry can maintain this level of play, Baltimore’s path to the Super Bowl looks increasingly promising. Fans can only hope the offensive and defensive synergy continues in the divisional round.
