Ranveer Singh Gets Relief as FWICE Withdraws Action Linked to ‘Don 3’ Exit
Film Industry Bodies Facilitate Resolution After Legal Notice From Actor
Actor Ranveer Singh has received a major reprieve after the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) decided to withdraw the non-cooperation directive that had been issued against him in connection with his reported exit from Don 3.
The decision comes days after the actor served a legal notice to the organization, challenging the action taken against him. Industry associations, including the Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association (IMPPA), the Producers Guild of India (PGI), and the Cine & TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA), are understood to have played a key role in facilitating discussions between the parties.
FWICE Revokes Directive With Immediate Effect
FWICE President BN Tiwari confirmed that the workers’ body has rescinded its earlier directive and is now open to further dialogue with stakeholders from across the film industry.
According to Tiwari, the objective is to create a framework where producers, directors, and actors can resolve disputes without affecting ongoing or future projects. He also indicated that FWICE’s legal team will review and respond to the notice sent by Singh.
How the Controversy Began
The dispute traces back to concerns raised over Singh’s departure from Don 3, a film being developed by filmmaker Farhan Akhtar and producer Ritesh Sidhwani.
Following complaints related to the project, the matter was reportedly escalated through industry channels before reaching FWICE, which subsequently issued the non-cooperation directive in May.
The film has generated significant interest since its announcement and is considered one of the most anticipated projects in the Hindi film industry.
Ranveer Singh Chooses a Measured Response
Despite the growing attention around the issue, Singh largely refrained from making public comments. A statement issued on behalf of the actor emphasized his respect for colleagues and industry professionals.
The statement added that Singh preferred to address the matter through proper professional and legal channels, rather than engaging in a public dispute.
Industry Focus Turns to Future Discussions
With the directive now withdrawn, attention is likely to shift toward constructive discussions among producers’ bodies, artists’ associations, and employee unions. Industry observers believe the resolution could help prevent similar conflicts from escalating in the future.
For now, the latest development appears to have eased tensions surrounding the issue, while leaving the door open for further conversations regarding the future of Don 3 and its production plans.
