India Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 Squad Revealed: Full Team List, Captain and Key Selections

India’s 15‑member squad for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 has been officially announced, and fans now have a clear picture of the team that will represent the country in the global tournament taking place in England and Wales. The BCCI has reposed faith in the existing core, with Harmanpreet Kaur named captain and Smriti Mandhana as vice‑captain, signalling continuity and stability in leadership ahead of a high‑pressure World Cup. The squad blends established stars with a handful of emerging names, giving India flexibility to adapt to different venues, conditions and opposition strengths.

At the top of the order, India will bank on the explosive power of Shafali Verma and the anchoring ability of Smriti Mandhana to provide a solid platform in the powerplay overs. Jemimah Rodrigues and Bharti Fulmali are expected to stabilize the middle order, while Richa Ghosh and Yastika Bhatia, both wicketkeepers, will offer quick scoring options lower down the lineup. The presence of two wicketkeeping‑batters underlines the selectors’ desire to maintain balance and provide options depending on the match situation and pitch conditions.

In the bowling department, India appears to have prioritized spin and all‑round depth, with Deepti Sharma and Shreyanka Patil at the heart of the plan. Both players can contribute valuable runs while also bowling crucial overs in the middle phase of the innings. Spin options like Radha Yadav and Shree Charani will be key on English pitches, where the ball can grip and turn in certain conditions. The pace attack is led by Renuka Singh Thakur, supported by Arundhati Reddy and Kranti Gaud, giving India a mix of experience and raw aggression with the new ball.

One of the major talking points is the absence of Amanjot Kaur, who misses out due to injury, leaving a noticeable gap in an already‑competitive all‑rounder pool. The exclusion of Harleen Deol and Pratika Rawal underlines the intense competition for places and the selectors’ preference for a more specialized, role‑based approach. As India prepares for the tournament, this 15‑member squad will be under pressure to translate domestic and bilateral‑series form into success on the World Cup stage, where a single mistake can cost a knockout match.
