Crash Details and Visuals
Flight data revealed that the small jet took off from Northeast Philadelphia Airport at 6:06 PM local time but disappeared from radar after climbing to an altitude of 1,600 feet within 30 seconds, as per the Associated Press. The crash site was located about 4.8 kilometers from the airport, which mainly serves business jets and charter flights.
Visuals shared on social media showed the plane wreckage near a row of houses, with several firefighters and emergency responders at the scene.
Eyewitness Accounts
A local resident described the horrifying moment, saying, “There was a loud bang, and my house shook. There was a large explosion, and I thought we were under attack for a second.”

Recent Deadly Crash Near Washington DC
This incident follows another tragic collision earlier this week, where a passenger jet collided with an Army helicopter near Ronald Reagan National Airport in Washington DC. All 64 passengers on the jet and three individuals on the helicopter perished in what became the deadliest aviation disaster in over two decades in the United States.
The collision raised critical concerns about how a passenger aircraft, equipped with advanced collision-avoidance technology, could encounter such a devastating crash in a busy airspace frequently populated by low-flying commercial and military aircraft.
Authorities in Philadelphia are currently investigating the cause of Friday’s plane crash as rescue operations continue at the site.
